PRICING: How Much Is a Walk-In Tub?
How Much
Walk-in tub pricing varies wildly. Cheaper tubs can go as low as $3,000 and luxurious models can get up to $20,000 installed. Buyer Beware: Cheap means cheap. Low-end tubs often don’t include fixtures, are made with low quality acrylic, have cheap jetting motors and won’t have a good warranty. You may think you’re saving money, while buying a lemon. It’s like buying a car. Become knowledgeable and you’ll be fine. See COMPARISONS for more details.
Our tubs start at about $5,500 and increase with additional features. Installation can be provided by your contractor, or we can arrange a factory-certified installer for about $2,000. Take advantage of DISCOUNTS for senior citizens, veterans and First Responders.
Feature Overload
When you start shopping, the features and pricing arrangements can be overwhelming. There are good dealers out there, though every industry has people who are just trying to make a sale. Know this: Pricing can be understood and you can find a walk-in tub to fit your budget.
Sales Practices
All dealers are not the same. Some companies are aggressive in order to make quotas. If you’ve never experienced this, you could schedule a salesman to come over. You’ll learn some things, but then you’ll discover they have no intention of leaving until you buy. It’s frustrating if you just want information.
Hidden Costs
If the dealer does not ask about the size of your water heater, they are neglecting a significant part of the cost equation. A 50 gallon water heater is recommended for a standard size walk-in tub. You would need a 75 gallon or larger for deeper, wider or two-seater walk-in models.
And when it comes to options, there is a wide range of features. Some dealers may not tell you about their basic model, even though it already has great features! If the dealer is willing to talk basics, you have an honest dealer. Watch that you don’t add costs from unwanted features.
Another cause for hidden costs regards the tub design. Frameless walk-in bathtubs allow the tub to fit through a standard door opening. Some tub models are built on large frames which are wider than standard doors. They may not fit through all the doorways from the outside of the home to the bathroom. And if they don’t, you will have to pay for construction costs to get the tub into the bathroom. We use a proprietary frameless design so there are no extra costs.
Franklin Home Comforts will get you the features you want, at a fair and realistic price, delivered to your doorstep.
